Manscaping Will Never be the Same!

We’ve all been there, whether it be with  partner, your side piece, or a random hook-up. You start kissing, things begin to heat up, you start undressing, they starts undressing, and then you get “the look.”
Now, hopefully that look is not utter disappointment in the size of the ship, but rather displeasure in the lack of upkeep or maintenance of the ship. And if it’s the latter (which we hope it is)—no matter how strong, confident, and attractive

A Personal Scent That's Uniquely Yours

If you're looking for a distinct, yet subtle fragrance that you can wear just about every day, you should give Givenchy Gentlemen Only ($60) a try. It features top notes of birch leaf, green mandarin, nutmeg, and pink pepper, giving it an invigorating freshness that's immediately apparent. Middle notes of cedar, patchouli, and vetiver lend notes of woodiness and masculinity, hence the moniker. With base notes that combine animal-like musk scents and frankincense essential oil for a sweet, warm aroma, this fragrance has a manly smell that lingers without being overwhelming.

Winter Proofing Your Skin

Winter is in full effect. In addition to causing a mess with your commute to a and from work and on your heating bills, winter also takes a toll on your skin.  It starts with dryness on exposed areas like your hands and face and extends to the rest of your body as the weather gets even colder.

In addition to the harsh outdoor weather, the skin can be adversely affected by central air heating and hot showers that tend to dry out the skin.  This adds further to the damage caused by the elements.  Going from cold to hot dehydrates and tightens our skin making it prone to redness, flakiness and patches.

Here are a few tips to winter proof your skin and keep it performing at optimal levels.

1. Switch To A Rich, Protecting Moisturizer
Just as you would protect your skin while exposed to the sun, it’s vital to protect it during the winter months too.

How To: Get your Barber to Give you a Great Haircut

I asked my barber his advice for anyone trying to change up their look or working with a new barber.  Here's what he said: I get many visits from guys who are looking for a make-over or simply a “new-look”. So when I get questions from about how to get their barbers to deliver the best haircut for them, I start with one simply word – Communication.
I know I may sound like a relationship counselor or your wife or girlfriend, but truthfully, the only way to get a great haircut is to explain what you want carefully.  I always appreciate when my clients

Grooming: Fall Prep

As cooler weather approaches, you have to do more than just put on more clothes.  You also have to make a few changes to your grooming regimen to prep your skin to handle the colder temperatures (especially your scalp).

The best way to do this is to finish your shower with a cold water rinse.  The cold water brings your skin back into balance, allowing your scalp to produce the necessary oils (sebum) to naturally moisturize itself and prevent dry scalp.

You should also moisturize your "whole" body to prevent your skin from drying out.  Ever have chapped lips?  Well, the same can happen to your body!

Finally, each time you shave a layer of skin  remove a layer of skin is removed.  So, after you shave, make sure you have an aftershave lotion and moisturizer handy.  This combination is always important, and, even more so as winter approaches.

Bring Your Lips Back to Life!

Bring your lips back to life by removing dead skin by applying a paste of baking soda and water. Lightly rub the paste in with your fingers.  When the paste dries, wipe it away and seal in moisture with a protective coating like Evolution Man's Lip Balm or  Menaji's Lip Agent for beautiful kissable lips.

Braun cruZer Beard & Head Trimmer

Over the past few weeks (three to be exact) we've had an opportunity to put the Braun cruZer beard & head trimmer through the paces, and lets just say we were impressed.  We highly recommend it.

Before we get into the review here's a WARNING: the cruZer clipper will make you miss your barber.

With the Braun cruZer you'll be able to keep your hair (facial and head) neat and trim to the extent that your weekly treks to your local barber are no longer necessary, well at least you'll be able to put greater distance between those visits.

The cruZer provided a very allowed for a very professional barber shop like beard trim.  We experiment with a variety of lengths and was pleased with each.

3 Smoothie Recipes for Better Skin

Getting a gorgeous skin, a glowing complexion doesn’t only mean slathering on sunblock or the latest antioxidant serum (though that helps, too). It also means paying attention to your diet. By tossing nutrient-rich fruits, vegetables and other goodies into your blender, you can nab more beautifying foods that will nourish your skin from the inside, out.
We’re talking ingredients that can help repair damage from nasty UV rays, give your skin a healthy glow, and reduce inflammation and puffiness (too many margaritas last night, perhaps?).
Here are a few smoothie recipes that will help you put your best face forward.  Try these recipes with powerhouse ingredients. After the jump.

Emergency Razor that Fits In Your Wallet

My face regrows stubble just 10 minutes after I’m done with a razor. So I’ve pretty much given up on the whole ‘clean shaven’ look. If having a face that’s always as smooth as a baby’s butt is of the utmost importance to you though, this compact travel razor comes with its own mirror, and when packed away is small enough to stash in your wallet.
The blades come off and are stowed on the backside of the mirror when not in use, so you don’t accidentally cut yourself. And it comes with a set of ‘scent strips’ you can adhere just below the blades, like sandal, ocean or lemon, to freshen you up while you shave. It doesn’t seem to address the whole issue of shaving cream, but I guess in a real emergency that would be more of a luxury than a necessity. (About $17 from Infmetry).

Evolution Man: Cleanse and Shave

Evolution Man recently added a new product to it's stable of  mens grooming products.  Cleanse & Shave is a new 2-in-1 product that can be used as a shaving cream or a daily cleanser.

I tried this product out as a shaving cream and was very pleased with the results.  I applied about a dime sized amount of Cleanse & Shave to three days of facial growth (from ear-to-ear) and worked up a nice rich lather and begin to shave as normal.

Cleanse & Shave delivered an ultra smooth close shave that left my face soft, moisturized, and refreshed. It's like no other shaving cream I've used before.  The orange oil gave it an invigorating citrusy smell that most men will enjoy.

(About $23.00 US for 5.1 oz)

Sunscreen can Prevent Wrinkles and Early Aging

A daily sunscreen can prevent premature skin aging and wrinkles.
With "Spring Break" us and most folks heading to the beach after the long rough winter, its important to enjoy the sun, and enjoy it properly and safely by using a sunscreen to protect your skin.  A good sunscreen will prevent premature skin aging and wrinkles and limit your exposure to the sun and ultraviolet light. UVA or UVB rays, from sunlight, account for 90% of the  symptoms associated with wrinkles and skin cancers.

Most people use sunscreen improperly by not applying enough. They apply only 25% to 50% of the recommended amount. Sunscreen should be applied liberally to all sun-exposed areas so that it forms a film when initially applied. It takes 20-30 minutes for sunscreen to be absorbed by the skin, so it should be applied at least a half an hour before going out in the sun.

Evolution Man Moisturizer

Many men struggle with dry skin.

And, lets face it not to many of us feel comfortable when your face feels dry. Fortunately, Evolution Man knows exactly how you feel feel.  Their smartly designed moisturizer is not only good as a daily moisturizer for the face, but also works on the scalp.

This two-in-one moisturizer works as a sunscreen (SPF 20) and keeps your skin hydrated and protected, both key steps in preventing premature aging. It's a light-weight moisturizer that absorbs quickly, and covers well with a very little. It has a non-greasy, matte finish, which means you’ll forget it’s there minutes after you apply.

For me, this moisturizer delivered on my expectations.  It moisturized and didn't leave my skin shiny.  It also gave me a more refreshed and youthful appearance which provided a since of added confidence.

If you're in the market for market for a moisturizer that successfully moisturizes and protects, this is definitely one to consider!

One of My Favorite Things: Menaji Face & Body Scrub

If you've ever watched Oprah for any period of time you'll know that she often talks about her "favorite things".  Well, I've been using Menaji Skincare's Face & Body Scrub for a few months now, and I'm ready to declare that this product is one of my favorite things!

Admittedly, I've been one of those guys who didn't think my face needed any special attention besides soap and water.  But, from time-to-time, I've dabbled with a product or two for special occasions.  Some of these products have cost a nice piece of change and have made some pretty incredible claims.

The Menaji Face & Body Scrub, which I've primarily used as a facial scrub over the past few months is by far the best facial scrub I've ever used.

Putting Your Best Face Forward

Very often we stay physically active to keep our body in shape and looking good as we age.  But no matter how physically fit you are there are simply some areas that no amount of exercise can tone.

Fortunately, the good folks at Menaji have developed an exercise routine for your skin that can keep your face toned and looking youthful.  Their Eraser product rejuvenates wrinkles and damaged skin, regenerates surface cells and erases fine lines.  In short, this product refreshes your skin by delivering collagen back to the source and keeps it toned to give you a more youthful look.

The best thing about Eraser is there is no down time, it works while you're sleeping and you'll see results in about a week.

Raise the Bar

Something about summer makes you want to keep your showers cool and your grooming routine minimal. And there's nothing easier than lathering up with an old fashioned bar of soap. The problem with most mass market brands is that they go quick and tend to dry out your skin. And then there's the scents. Some smell like laundry detergent, others like candy, fruit or women.  Small-batch soaps do a body good and leave you smelling, well, like a man.

Musgo Real Soap
Developed in 1887, this triple-milled soap soothes and moisturizes skin with coconut oil and rinses clean, leaving only a refreshing barbershop scent (about $7).

Menaji 911 Eye Gel: A Real Eye Rescue

I've been doing a little traveling lately and burning the candle at both ends and in the middle partying. With the hectic spring/summer season upon us, things won't be slowing down anytime soon.

Thankfully, i've been trying out  Menaji Skincare's 911 Eye Gel, a fast acting   hypo-allergenic rich serum that tightens and lifts the skin around your eyes.  911 Eye Gel deflated the puffy bags under my eyes and removed the dark circles in under 30 minutes, restoring my youthful appearance.

I can honestly say, this is the best eye gel i've ever used.  You can get it at the Menaji site for about $36.

Five Easy Ways for College Guys to Upgrade their Style

Here are a few simple steps to help college students stand out from their peers.

Let’s face it, many of today’s college students can stand a little in sight on dressing appropriately.  As many colleges across the USA are beginning to discuss implementing dress codes to prevent students from literally attending class dressed in the pajamas they slept in, and showing up to presentations in athletic gear.    And, lets not forget that far too many male college students still have to be taught how to tie a necktie.
To be fair, girls are just as bad offenders as guys are  --- letting it all hang out.  While times and standards have changed, there are several reasons to consider taking your style and wardrobe up a notch or two:
When you dress sharp, you think sharp. If you don’t believe me, try it out yourself. When you feel put together, you feel more alert, more confident, and more ready to tackle the day’s tasks. College used to be considered a serious business, the halls where learning took place, hallowed.
