Many are firmly convinced that juicing is the final key to giving you a radiant, energetic life, and truly optimal health.
There's the claim that cooking and processing food destroys the micronutrients contained in fruits and vegetables and that by juicing can avoid this.
Virtually every health authority recommends that we get 6-8 servings of vegetables and fruits per day and very few of us actually get that. Juicing is an easy way to virtually guarantee that you will reach your daily target for vegetables.
Juicing fruits and vegetables have been known to flood the body with nutrients that empowers your body to heal itself, increase energy, and combat bloating.  Juicing regimes can also help with weight loss.

The service is now available in DC, NYC, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, San Francisco, and Dallas.

The Uber iPhone/Android app pulls location data from your phone and Foursquare, and allows you to enter in your destination, and provides you an estimated fare before booking the service and charging your credit card.  If you don't have a smartphone you can log in using m.uber.com.  Its that simple, no cash, no hassle, no tip.

The Best Times to Buy Clothing

If you're a clothes horse -- or even if you're not -- you may have noticed that closes seem to cost more than they did a year ago.  Given that, here are a few tips to help you send your dollar wisely and catch a deal.
The best month to buy a winter coat
January or February. The vast majority of people who need winter coats have them by then, so coats and other  winter clothes often go on sale starting in January. The longer you wait, the lower the prices — retailers will need to make room for spring clothing. But the longer you wait, the worse the selection will get.

Analyst Predict New iPhone 5S Around June 2013

The speculation is growing louder about the possible release of a new iPhone 5 this summer. Today, Jeffries analyst Peter Misek said in a report that his supply chain checks anticipate a launch in June/July with a March production start date. The report backs up an earlier claim from Topeka analyst Brian White, who said at the start of January that an iPhone 5S will begin production in March or April for a May/June launch.
These reports are still just analyst predictions, based on research culled from supply chain sources not sourced from Apple directly, but the fact that they agree so closely on the anticipated timeframe for launch is an indicator that there could be more here than just idle speculation.
The yearly update cycle may no longer be an adequate way to operate in today's highly competitive smartphone market, given the increase in competition from Samsung and its much more varied product line. A mid-season update makes a lot of sense.  We'll wait and see.

Belstaff Despatch Rider's Coat

Belstaff, famous since 1924 for its waxed-cotton motocycle jackets and military overcoats, stuck to its rugged authenticity in this update of its despatch-rider's coat, shown here. True to the original construction, down to the grommets under the armpits , the update is made from a bonded techno cotton, a cloth that is altogether stronger, more resilient, and more luxurious than the traditional waxed cotton. This is progress we can get behind.

Perfect Timing!

This year, designers are keeping everything simple, whereas past years advocated the aggressive utilization of bold colors, intricate pattern, and accessories aplenty. This year leans toward an uncomplicated aesthetic that still communicates sweeping sophistication, but with minimal effort. Less is most certainly more. That being said, nothing completes a man's attire than a watch.  Resist the urge to select the most bedazzled, blinged out watch you can strap around your wrist. 2013 is all about being subtle and understated.

The Timex Men's Weeknder Brown Leather Watch (about $33) is a great example of a cool, casual timepiece packed with style.  Featuring a white analog dial and a brown calfskin band, this watch is a must-have for your collection.

20 Tips for a Positive 2013

Face it, you're not going to keep your New Year's Resolutions, so let's try developing some principles you can actually follow throughout the year instead of failing miserable after the first two weeks of the year.  Best selling author and key note speaker, Jon Gordon, offers the following outline.  Take a look -- and yes, this will be our last New Year's related post-- so if you planned on complaining, please refer to #9.
Enjoy!
1. Stay Positive. You can listen to the cynics and doubters and believe that success is impossible or you can trust that with faith and an optimistic attitude all things are possible.
2. Take a morning walk of gratitude. I call it a “Thank You Walk.” It will create a fertile mind ready for success.
3. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out charge card.
4. Zoom Focus. Each day when you wake up in the morning ask: “What are the three most important things I need to do today that will help me create the success I desire?” Then tune out all the distractions and focus on these actions.
5. Instead of being disappointed about where you are, think optimistically about where you are going.

Target Now Price Matching Online Retailers

Good news for Target shoppers today the brick-and-mortar stores made a huge move to counteract the practice of “showrooming,” the term that refers to consumers who going into a store and size up an item then go home and purchase it online for less. The company announced that it is now extending its holiday price matching policy year-round, in order to match those prices offered by online retailers like Amazon and Walmart.com, as well as BestBuy.com and Toysrus.com (including Babiesrus.com).
The deal also extends toTarget.com, just in case Target’s own online property ends up competing with its retail stores on price. The price match is only being offered for up to seven days following the purchase, and as before, the policy includes print ads from other local retailers, too.

5 Ways to Lose Belly Fat

With the new year many of you have, no doubt, resolved to lose weight and become more physically fit.  While many of us have probably added a few extra pounds over the holiday, and are not looking to shed them here are a few tips to help you do just that.

First, there are a lot of annoying gimmicks about how to get rid of belly fat. While there's no "magic bullet" that will target abdominal fat in particular, we'll outline a few proven strategies that can make the spare tire go away.

Eat breakfast. It might seem counterproductive to eat if you're trying to lose weight, but studies show that eating breakfast within an hour of waking up keeps your insulin levels steadier and your LDL cholesterol (the bad kind) levels lower.
  • Try to eat your breakfast around the same time each day. If you tend to sleep in on the weekends, eat as soon as you wake up.
  • Consider including protein and high-fiber foods in your breakfast — because they take longer to process than refined sugars and complex carbs, you'll continue to feel full throughout the morning. Try eggs, peanut butter, and fresh fruit and vegetables.

Personal financial resolutions to consider for 2013

Eating less and exercising more always make for good New Year's resolutions.  But more people are considering starting 2013 with steps that will help get their finances in shape.
A recent survey by Fidelity Investments found that 46% of consumers are considering making financial resolutions for 2013, up from about one-third of individuals just three years ago.  The trend reflects the still-fragile state of the economy and a desire to better prepare for the future or important life events.
Of course, keeping resolutions is never easy.  But among those individuals who set financial goals in 2012, almost half --46%-- said they achieved more than 80% of their resolutions.
Despite this evidence of success, 38 percent of respondents to the Fidelity New Year Financial Resolutions Study thought it's harder to keep financial resolutions than non-financial ones. But that has not kept them from trying. The top three New Year financial resolutions are to: (1) save more (52 percent); (2) spend less (19 percent); and (3) pay off debt (19 percent).
